The little things: Chapter 1

Chapter 1
Kaitlyn’s POV

7 a.m.*Beep Beep* WAKE UP * Beep Beep*
Ugh. I’m seriously gonna kill the person who invented Alarm Clocks. Like waking up wasn’t bad enough. I drag my otherwise useless body off my bed and begin my daily routine. 20 minutes for Hair, makeup and outfit of the day then its off to breakfast for me.
“Hey Kitty Kat! Hurry up! You don’t wanna be late for your first day of Senior Year. It’s our last chance to get the best lockers” I hear parker yell from the kitchen. That’s Parker Ryan. To everyone he’s Heathridge High’s quarterback, Campus hunk and all around Ladies’ man. But to me, He’s Parker, My bestfriend ever since I could remember. We know practically everything about each other and being the bestfriend of the Player, girls flock to me with endless questions like “what’s his favorite color” or “ Does he really go to the gym 6 times a week?” Frankly, It’s getting pretty annoying. People know that were just friends, Probably why boys don’t exactly come worshipping the ground I walk on just because they know what Parker can do to them once they hurt me.
“ Yea, hold your horses, I’ll be right down.” I quickly changed into my pre-arranged first day of school outfit. A white tank top, ultra-fitting Black leggings and my favorite purple leather jacket. It was  Spirit week at Heathridge so as a tradition the kids wear the School’s signature colors, Black and Purple. Even Parker, who’s attire seems to never change(varsity jacket and jeans) changed his usual attire and went with a plain purple Shirt, Black ripped pants and a Black Leather jacket that matches mine. I hurry on down to the dining area where I see that Mom has made our special first day of class breakfast, Chocolate chip pancakes and strawberry milk. “Good morning Kaitlyn, I see it’s spirit week again. Parker just went to the bathroom, Dad’s already at work and he dropped Serena off so she wont be going to school with you and parker today” says my mom in her usual early morning sing-song voice. “ Thanks mom” I grab a plate and start to dig in when parker comes out of the bathroom “well there’s the early bird. Hey Katie. Oh and Mrs. Summers the doorknob in the bathroom was loose so I hope you don’t mind but I tightened it for you.”  Parker had a certain interest in fixing thing. He was around so much that we hardly ever had to call a mechanic to fix things around the house. “of course I don’t mind, thank you parker. You better get going kids, don’t wanna be late for your first day of school. My, it seems like just yesterday you two were swimming in the backyard with just your diapers on.”  Too much information  mom.  “Mom, That was 12 years ago. We know better than to swim half naked in the backyard pool. Anyways, better get going before this turns into an official cry fest.” I grab my backpack and drag Parker towards the front door as he screams “Bye Mrs. Summers! Thanks for the pancakes”
We hop into Parker’s cherry red ferrarri and go through our first day of school protocol. “ So Katie, You remember my rules and regulations”  whispers parker. “ of course, Always eat lunch together unless emergencies arise, No overdecorating our lockers and always grab the middle seat in every class we take. And you?” “ as usual, If practice runs late I text you first, No backsasssing the new teachers and no dating Girls 3 years older and younger than me. “ he says the last one with a smirk. “all right, looks like were set. Let’s just hope this year goes better than the others.”  Parker  starts the ignition, cranks up the radio and drives us to our very first day of senior year.

Parker’s POV
As soon as we arrive at school, the same familiar feeling of dread washes over me. The feeling that you get when you realize you have to stand 9 straight months of pure torture in this Mental institution they call “high school”. Luckily I have Kaitlyn by my side or else I would have declared myself mentally insane. Her and me, were a team. Best friends through thick and thin. She’s been there through all the girls, late night movie marathons and bad date bailouts. Partners in crime until the world ends. That’s what everyone knows about us, we will never leave each other’s sides.
We enter  the hallways and immediately crowds of girls start swarming around us. I have to admit, it feels nice to be loved even if it’s a little too much. “Hi Parker, wow, your muscles have surely grown bigger” “ hey parker how was your summer?” “ nice ass parker”  I listen as the endless wave of compliments comes pouring out from those desperate girls’ mouths. I glance at Katie as she merely rolls her eyes as we walk down the hall. Being my best friend ever since we even started school, She got sort of used to all the girls clinging to me. It makes me wonder why she never has girlfriends. Well except for Aira, but she moved away to los angeles when we were in the 8th grade. After her, she never really felt comfortable around the other girls. I don’t blame her, high school has changed those sweet innocent girls into a couple of mean, spiteful, overdecorated Barbie dolls.
“Parker, Parker!” huh. What. I didn’t even notice I was spacing out. “ I said, whats youre locker assignment?”  I come back to my senses and dig around in my bag for my folder. “hm.. lemme see. Locker no. 13. And yours? “  I wait until kaitlyn looks for her binder “ locker no. 2, hey that’s like directly across the hall from yours. That’s the 6th time they did that. “  everyone knows were bestfriends and practically inseparable, even the administrating staff. I figured they did this on purpose. “ Locker buddies through and through”
                                                                *RING**RING*
oh well, theres the bell catch you later parker. And remember, no breaking girls hearts while I’m gone”. “wow. How can I live without you. I’ll try to be a good boy while you’re gone”  I watch Kaitlyn walk down to her class as I turn around ready to face the horrors of Advanced Algebra.
