opinions on a perfect life

this world has not given us much options for a better life and in order to get on with it, we just accept the mistakes and move on with our lives. but have you ever dreamed of living the perfect life?

a life with no limitations. a life wherein you can do anything you want whenever you want. Eternal freedom accompanies a perfect life. and as we enjoy more of our life, we tend to stray far from our initial reason for desiring a perfect life. As human beings, we tend to abuse freedom for we know nothng of how to control it. Nothing is perfect. Life is messy. Relationships are complex. Outcomes are uncertain. People are irrational. No one has a perfect life and no one will ever have one. that's just how god has planned it.

I want to not perpetuate any more of this kind of garbage that's out there in the media about women falling in love blindly. No one's life is perfect, and I'm sick of whatever tabloid stuff or this or that story tries to portray. My life is just as realistic as everybody else's. Whoever thinks someone has a perfect life, I'm so eager to dispel that. Some won't appreciate what you say or do, but as long as you speak honestly from the heart, you will be fine. This is not a perfect life, but life loves the person who dares to live it by being REAL! I haven't lived a perfect life. I have regrets. But that's from a lifetime of taking chances, making decisions, and trying not to be frozen. The only thing that I can do with my regrets is to understand them.

so stop trying to be perfect for there is no such thing as perfection. be happy and contented with what you have been given. sure, life hasnt been what it's cracked up to be but so what! thats the beauty of life, nothing is perfect but you can make it just the way you want by thinking it is. And just to let you know, you are not alone. :)

happy sunday :)

the common misconceptions of Beauty.

These days, beauty has been slightly misunderstood. the definition of beauty today is far beyond the true definition of beauty. Today, social media depicts that you cant be beautiful without makeup, hair dye, body piercings etc. This however is very much wrong. true beauty comes from within. don't mind what other people tell you. What's important is if you think you're beautiful then you are beautiful. after all, Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.  but just remember, Natural beauty is the best kind of beauty there is. Everything is beautiful, but beautiful isn’t everything.  Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are.  :)

Beauty is a thing seldom seen. It is held by all within the soul it lies, waiting to come out to the surface, but it can only be found if someone is sharing your soul with you. Beauty is suppressed by the evils of the world. Only love can bring beauty out. Once seen, beauty never hides again. Not even hatred can deny beauty of it's true design. Beauty, although possessed by all by few and fewer yet will ever see one of the most beautiful sights - the beauty held by you. Beauty often seduces us on the road to truth. To be truly beautiful reflects an unparallel sense of eternity, unchanged by events or situations which may otherwise compromise such a trait.

Beauty is only skin deep. I think what’s really important is finding a balance of mind, body and spirit. We never noticed the beauty because we were too busy trying to create it. If what you see by the eye doesn’t please you, then close your eyes, and see from the heart. Because the heart can see beauty and love more than the eyes can ever wonder. Beauty isn’t about having a pretty face. It’s about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and a pretty soul. Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. Perhaps it is good to have a beautiful mind, but an even greater gift is to discover a beautiful heart.

So if someone ever told you your ugly, dont believe them. if someone's backbiting you, hold your head up high and fight for what's right. because by saying so much negative things about you, they're only proving that your life is much more interesting. ;) remember, always have the courage to fight for what you think is right. having courage only makes one more beautiful. Beauty doesn’t last forever, but a beautiful personality does. :)

goodbye beautiful people :) stay true

like many people my age, i grew up reading and watching the entire harry potter series. I grew up wanting to be a wizard, going to gringotts, casting my first spell. unfortunately, however, none of the above ever happened. but i never lost hope. :) Harry Potter helped shape a generation and molded litlle girls and boys into bright and creative citizens of the world.

so here is some random shiz you need to know about how much i love harry potter:

favorite character: Luna Lovegood (hey, shes quirky. i like quirky :])

favorite villain: Severus Snape

favorite couple: Draco and hermione ( DraMione? HerAco?)

favorite hogwarts professor: Minerva MacGonagall

favorite line: "always"-snape

double the trouble

so if you guys dont know, i have a twin sister. she was born just 2 minutes before me and lives ever minute of everyday rubbing it in my face. well, i cant blame her, she was born with such an awesome little sister ;)

there are times i want to smack her in the face with a shovel but then i think, who will i ask confusing math questions to? (heads up: she's a huge math geek ;]). she may be annoying but i live with her and i may as well learn to weather the storm.

me and my sister share a lot of common interests. we both have a passionate love for music and were both lazy as hell XD we were born into a musical family so when we were young, our parents signed us up for different music classes. that is where my sister developed a passion for piano, and i with singing. music was a big part of our lives, although we never really liked the same genres. she prefers Kpop (korean pop =__=) while i prefer pop, underground, mellow songs. so we never really did agree on which song to play in the car on the way home.

having a twin sister has its ups and downs. its like a roller coaster ride thatt never ends. but as they say, life's a climb but the view's great :)

good night world!

p.s. twin telepathy? it really works XD
p.p.s. here's here link if you want to check out our"similarities" and whatnot :) http://www.facebook.com/samantha.r.tiu

High school case files #1: high school cliques

high school is one of the greatest things to compare to and make fun of, only because its so easy to target. there is no being "unique" because in some way everyone is copying someone else. you can't walk down the hall without a rumour spreading that you were checking out barbie's boyfriend ken. its usually easier for the guys, its always the girls fighting over them now a days. high school is the smallest portion of our life but to some people it matters the most. why is this?

highschool is a part of your life wherein you go on a journey  of self- discovery in order to find out what is the meaning of life and what you are destined to become. but on the way to your goal, you meet certain people who may either give you a struggle or give you encouragement.Below is a list of some of the most up-to-date cliques in high schools today. which one are you?

The Jock Jocks tend to be those star athletes that have that confidence that certainly boarders on showing off their riches.  As a jock, you have a high sense of self-esteem that gives you the right to be popular. You love what you do, but definitely feel a pressure to be extremely good at it, after all, the entire school is counting on you to get that title! But you feel lucky to be who you are because there are definitely perks to being an athlete. If you're good enough, your bad grades won't matter because you'll be going to college on an athletic scholarship. Don't be ashamed! You physically earned your way there!

The Prep The person we all love, but hate at the same time. Preps tend to be the all American girl/boy concerned with the way they look. You can basically see yourself on the cover of a Ralph Lauren catalogue. You're outgoing and very involved in activities that call for your organization expertise, ie: Student Council. Popularity may be a product of your preppiness and whenever you need money, just ask Daddy. You don't have a problem with helping the needy, so long as it makes you look good. But at least you're doing your part!

The Hippie/Hipster Totally awesome dude! You are the epitome of laid back, but it's something you have to try to be. Talk about the anti-trend trend! You are environmentally conscious and have a free spirited. Hey, you even love maps! The only music you listen to is underground, and the second it goes mainstream, you swear to never listen to it again. You don't have many friends, but the friends you do have are very close to you. Rock on.

The Princess/Miss Perfect Daddy's favorite little girl! You are spoiled rotten, but hey, it's okay, you get whatever you want, whenever you want! You are the most popular girl in school aka feared by all. Everyone knows who you are because you're involved in almost everything. All your teachers love you, but all your friends secretly hate you. Your best skills are your interpersonal skills, especially when it comes to gossip, but it can definitely be applied in many other ways. You're outgoing and must always look like you love what you're doing, 'cause you do, right?

The Nerd So you're shy, wear unflattering clothes, and have a congestion problem, so what? You've got the brains! Who cares what everyone thinks, you still have your friends, and your more successful future. You dream of dating "Miss Perfect," but face it, it's never going to happen. She might be scared off by your affinity for Star Wars. Not to fret, you've established a good group of friends you can do math problems with on the weekends. No moment is ever a dull moment!

The Thespian "To be or not to be..." that is definitely the question. You have established yourself in the theater realm and see no need to step outside of it. You have a certain arrogance that people don't know whether to admire or hate. Black is in season year around for you. Sometimes your speech is hard to comprehend as you are often times quoting plays that many of the everyday folks don't recognize. Your whole life is a play, keep on writing!

The Band/Choir Geek Music is your left hand, you couldn't live without it. You eat, breath, sweat music. However your passion borders on obsession. You spend your days reminiscing about your summer band camp days. All of your friends are in band or choir, if they weren't who would listen to all your stories about your tuba? You're outgoing, maybe a little too out-going, calm it down!

but it doesnt really mater what clique you belong to. were all equal in god's eyes :) its just what we choose to dowith our high school lives. dont let names define you, let your actions define you.

Peace, hope and love

disney dreams

i remember the times when i would come home from school and my dad would allow me one disney movie before doing my homework. Being a kid with a wild imaginattion, disney movies helped me shape my imagination and let me live life with enough carefree charisma to last me a lifetime. so here's my top 5 disney movies/shows that i would watch endlessly. (even until now :])

5. the buzz on maggie

The wild adventures of this precocious little fly and all her insect friends gave me a new perspective on how insects view the world.

4.toy story

after watching the first movie, i begged my mom to put security cameras in m room to see what my toys were up too while i was at school. good thing she didnt because if she did and my toys actually  moved, i would be one traumatised little girl.

3. american dragon

i loved this show not only because it has a lot of chinese elements but because jake was just as stubborn and rebelious as i was. and because i love dragons.

2. lilo and stitch

this show made me cry multiple times. one of the main reasons it is so close to my heart is because it just goes to show that no matter what you are, youre family will always love you. in the words of stitch himself "ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind." :')

1. kim possible

And my personal favorite. :) i always wanted kim's life. supportive parents, gets to travel around the world, smartest girl in school, pretty, perfect boyfriend. she was a big inspiration to me when i was little. she was the one who taught me to fight for what i believe in. and for that, i salute you kim possible.

disney will always have a special place in my heart no matter how old i'll be. when i grow up, i'll show my kids all the disney movies of back then (and harry potter ;) ) in the hope that , just like me, it can help shape a generation.

to risk or not to risk? that is the question

so here's the sitch.

there's this girl and there's this boy.theyre both seniors. they have been super close friends for years now and they have gotten to the point of being by each other's side and constantly having laugh trips. they have a lot of things in common. but the problem is that the girl really likes the boy, but not as friends. she was in love with him ever since they were sophomores but she never had the courage to tell him in the fear of ruining a perfectly good friendship. the problem is that she wants something more, but if she tells him and he doesnt like her back, that could mean the end of their friendship. so what should she do?

well, the thing is, that girl is me. life hasnt really given me a lot of good chances lately so i have no idea what to do about this. i plan to tell him after grad, before we go our separate ways but im afraid it might be too late. i mean what if he does like me? ah life, stop giving me lemons, i could open up a lemonade stand (=__=)

insights on a chinese family

growing up in a traditional chinese family, i never really had a normal childhood. the chinese were taught to be strict and to enforce their rules with dignity.

my mom was a "tiger mom" meaning she controlled everything. she has to know where i am every single minute of everyday. every thing i do has to follow a strict schedule specially designed to make my schooling a priority in my life. i guess thats a good thing since i am now independent and ready to live life to the fullest because of her. i love you mama <3

my dad is one of those typical  asian dads. the ones you see on the internet that are like   "you got A- in math? i have no daughter." he closely monitors my studies and teaches me things that arent discussed in school. he enrolled us in countless in countless review centers and advanced classes. Because of his persistence, me and my sister are now studying Advanced calculus, permutations and college trigonometry at the age of 15. he has given us knowledge far beyond our years. i guess having an over-ruling, strict, asian dad has its perks. ;)

and of course, my grandparents. on my mother's side theyre not so traditional but on my father's side.... once you enter their place, it looks like a mini chinatown. porcelain vases here, golden buddhas there, chinese charms on the wall, and other assorted chinese memorabilia. my father's grandmother is the ultimate chinese mother. with 7 children, 21 grandchildren (4 sets of twins) and 2 grandchildren (and counting.,,) she manages to keep track of where everyone is at an exact time. in our family, once ou reach the tender age of 5,she teaches you the fine art of Mahjong, no wonder many of us turned into gamblers. we were taught strategy and luck games even before we can write. thas probably why most of her children and grandchildren are so successful in life. i salute you ahma!

even though i love the philippines, i am EXTREMELY proud of being a pure chinese. go TSINOY community!! :))

on life and love

now, im one of those people who like having a lot of friends around, friends who love you for who you are and arent afraid of being themselves around you. unfortunately, a majority of my girlfriends are either in a relationship or busy focusing on their careers which leaves no time for slumber parties or late night talkathons. but dont get me wrong, i love them with all my heart but it seems like these days they just dont have enough time for me. oh well.....

anyways, lets go to the topic of love. as a teenager, ive noticed that the word "love" is not being used like it did back in the good old days. like for example, a couple say "i love you" to each other but the next day they break up. love is eternal, when you love somebody, it has to be with feeling and it has to last forever. love is not just a one-day thing.ive experienced my fair share of heartbreaks so my advice is, never be too serious about relationships or else youll regret it.

the different types of love.

1.crush- this is the stage wherein a person is attracted to another person but only for a short period of time.

2. infatuation- this is the stage wherein you become obsessed with someone and you constantlywant to know where that person is. this is also known as the stalker stage, the puppy love stage, and the obsessed stage. this is the stage wherein you think you love someone but you know nothing about it. most teenagers are at this stage and even some celebrities ehem*kardashian*

3. first love or love at first sight- this is wherein you see a person and you instantly become attracted to them. studies show that only 5% of these people end up being together. if you are, however, one of these then i salute you.

4. in love- this is the "soulmate stage". here is where people who truly are in love, have the same common interests, and understand each other end up. this is the most beautiful kind of love because and only because this is the stage wherein the two are so meant for each other and they understand each other despite their flaws. people who are at this stage i applaud you. it is here where you will understand the true meaning of love.

5. fake love- i have been in this stage countless times before. it is where a person uses you for their own benefit while making you believe that they truly love you. this is why, people of the universe, you should never be fooled by love.

and last but not the least,

6. friendzone- considered as the most hurtful, it is wherein you confess your unding love for someone but that person wants to "only be friends" not onl is it humiliating but by doing so you risk your friendship in the hope for something more but you get less than what you started with.

love is such a complex thing to think about but to all the teenagers out there i say to hell were love! were young we can worry about that later when we get older. remember youre onloung once. live. laugh. love. dream. explore.
